Windows vs. Apple

Yeah, this recently just popped into my mind. Which is better: Apple or Windows? Windows OS's dominate 90% of the internet while Apple's iPod is ridiculously popular. Windows is easy to use, but not labeled "user-friendly" like iMac. PC's have left and right click buttons and a scroll wheel; Macs have the function key and a one button mouse. Windows supports games; Mac supports very....VERY.....few. You can run Windows on Mac, or Mac on Windows. Zune shares wirelessly while iPod does not. Bill Gates is alot more richer than Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs isn't as nerdy as Bill Gates is. Macs are more expensive than PC's. PC's are sold alot more than Macs are. Alot of old people use Macs; young people like windows. Windows has a tendency to be considered nerdy; Apple has a tendency to be considered cool. The Apple commercial says it's better than Microsoft. And yet Microsoft is clearly alot more successful than Apple. Well, I am sort of neutral on the issue (I hate ipod, like their computers; like Windows, but sometimes acts retarded) but I prefer Microsoft over Apple. It's fun to look around on Mac computers because they're alot different, but they'll never beat windows as a traditional os. Oh yeah, Apple is coming out with the touch pad iPhone. Oh, that reminds me, I don't like how Apple puts the "i" before everything. You know, iPod. iMac. iPhone. i. i. Me. It's all about me. See what I mean? That's why I don't like Apple as much as Windows. Oh yeah, I brought this to your attention (if you're reading this) because I discovered a really hilarious vid:

I'm going to make a documentary on this, so watch for updates on it.
C'est la vie, happy hunting, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. (copy and paste is a wonderful thing)

Life, The Universe and Windows Vista

Speaking of Vista, I discovered today that I didn't have enough space on my primary hard drive to upgrade to vista, which the bleeping upgrade advisor shoula told me. So, gotta clean up all the extra programs and crud in my primary hard drive. You know what's retarded? My secondary hard drive is bigger than my primary (hard drive 1: 96.9 GB, Hard Drive 2: 111 GB).

I just discovered 2 cool metal bands: Becoming the Archetype and Shadow's Fall, of which the latter has a song on Guitar Hero 2 (The Light That Blinds)

Oh, I just realized I haven't updated my blog since Thursday...That's quite a long time. Well, about work camp. Friday we went up in the tour bus (YES!!! A.C. GALORE!!) except the soph. girls who decided to mutually exclude themselves from the group and went up in a van...eh, their loss. So, while I worked my butt off working on Grieg's concerto everyone else played wiffle and volley ball. (I know there's not a space in between volly and ball, but who really gives a sentimental dead squirrel?) After 1.5 hours we left for Phelan and I ate at BK and got ripped by not getting game pieces I was entitled to. Me, Silas and Jeff protested, but they turned us away rather coldly. Well, after we went back, I practiced some more then got bored and broke out Band of Bros. for everyone to watch...but only me, Vinny and Greg watched the whole time (some people watched but their attention span was limited to 2 minutes due to the presence of the opposite sex) Then, the next day we worked. Me, Greg, Alex, Jeff and RHLA-er Kyle fixed erosion issues under the deck for 3 hours and that really got me stir crazy. After that and lunch we worked on the bank out on the meadow and did fire clearance up at upper camp and then all the jobs were done and everyone left and I died a little inside. Just kidding, I laid down (more like flopped down, landed on, fell on, nearly missed, etc.) on my couch and laid there feeling my whole body ached then practiced for 3 hours. Sunday was uneventful besides that my mom wanted to go cherry picking at a local ranch but when we went it turned out that it was closed. I managed to catch up to my listening to metal (Living Sacrifice-Concieved in Fire). Monday I had a 3 hour lesson and went to Chaz's, had a triple burger, two Mtn Dews (those kept me up all night), alot of chips, and other junk food. We played Axis and Allies while watching Band of Bros. and afterward played guitar hero. Then I went home and tried to get mechwarrior2 running on my computer, but I bitterly failed. Today was ditch day but I didn't want to go even though I qualified for it. I actually HATE Magic Mountain because of the relentless torrents of modern culture (i.e. freaks, lots of couples making out in the middle of the walkway/line/plain sight/where everyone can see them/etc etc etc.) Well, dinner's calling for me, so until next time, WASH YOUR HANDS. 30 seconds minimum.

much ado about nothing

That's a Shakespeare play, but that basically describes my intentions right now until CSI starts at 9:00. Right now it's 8:23, so I have some time to work with. Oh yeah, whenever I post something, it says the time when I started typing at, not when I click the Publish Post button. Speaking of which, next to that button is a save now button which has a little dialog pointing at it that says it autosaves drafts for me. How nice, considering I never save drafts because I always like to take these blogs at a long stretch.

It's been a long time since I decided to come and update my blog. Well, actually, I only missed a day...but it still felt like a long time. The weeks keep on going by faster and faster and before I know it the end of school will hit me like a brick wall. So will the trip. And coming back from the trip. And double sessions. And the first day of school. And the first football game. And inaugural (in which the girls have to ask the guys....I feel my skin starting to crawl already). And the last football game (which will hopefully be a championship victory). And basketball season. And volleyball. And graduation. And college. And a job. And marriage (20% chance of that happening, I'd say). And family. And grandkids. And retirement. And death. Yeah, all of those things will hit me so hard and fast that I won't have time to grab some tapioca. Sheesh, am I thinking rather morbidly today.

Where was I?.... Oh yeah, updating my blog. I finally got to what I wanted to do after typing a rather long reflective paragraph. Tomorrow we're going to L.A. Courthouse for "Law Day" which they announced just today, of which we need to wear nice clothes, and I stand there in shock as to why I haven't heard this before and everyone treats me like a retard just freshly thrown out of the insane asylum because they got the announcement last week and didn't bother to tell me. I know for sure that I paid attention to all announcements for the past 3 weeks, but how this one got by me I haven't got a clue. Luckily, I have my "Kare Wear" (as Mrs. Orsburn christened it) down here, but both pairs of my dress shoes are at home. Er, my home up in the mountains. It's so frustrating living at two locations so far away from each other. So, I'll just wear my old beat-up K-Swiss tennies and see if anyone notices. If I get a demerit, I'll be down at 11 and will actually have to work on a Saturday (the first time that I'll ever get in merit trouble in my entire carrer at RHP). If I don't get a demerit, I'll heave a sigh of relief. Oh yeah, I'm actually going home tomorrow. Work camp's this Saturday, and we're going to have fun stuff Friday. We're actually going out to eat either in Wrightwood (Grizzly Bear Cafe!!!! Oh, do I hope) or out in Phelan (or Phe-Lahn, as Mr. Loomis pronounced it). I'm hoping that we'll be able to break out my Band of Brothers DVD's and watch a couple episodes...like Bastogne, Day of Days or Crossroads. (by the way, this is a really good series. Thing is, it has a LOT of swearing and has a graphic sex scene towards the end of the series (stir crazy guys on leave, you know, that's going to happen))

I recently discovered Battletech. Well, not discovered it, I knew of it ever since I starting playing MechWarrior 2 when I was six (really awesome game, but has cheesy graphics but it's all part of the fun) because MechWarrior games are based on the Battletech universe. What I mean is that I've discovered Battletech as a tabletop game. You can either print out little cheesy 2d paper figures of mechs or buy metal models you can paint, and you battle on a pad with a bunch of hexagons on it (for gameplay; if you knew the rules of the game, you'd know why). If you're interested, see classicbattletech.com. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that there are different variants of the game and I'm starting off with classic. If you want to know more, just don't be lazy and google Battletech.

Uh oh, 8:50, CSI starts in 10 minutes......wait, since it was the season finale last week, does that mean there's going to be reruns until the season kickoff? (Is there a season kickoff? I almost never watch TV, so I don't know these things) Last weeks episode was a cliffhanger, so I do hope that they don't show a rerun. If they do, I may be mad. Or that gives me a reason to come back here and write some more gibberish...... Say, I'm going to go check if it's a rerun right now. Thank goodness for the channel guide.

Darrgh, it's a rerun. I changed my mind about posting gibberish anyway, because it's probably an episode I haven't seen before.

Didn't work

..but nevertheless, I don't really care. I'm getting WindowBlinds anyway, and that's somewhat as good (when it comes to display; I still won't be able to play halo 2....if I get it)

Second Failure

It failed. Again. Now for one more try...and if it doesn't go, I'm perfectly happy with XP.

...for now.

Say, my blog's getting kinda large, I feel like I've accomplished something.

Saturday, May 19, 2007

After many hours of waiting....

....it failed to upgrade. I am really angry right now, because I double checked with the upgrade advisor thingy from microsoft, downloaded 72 upates, and such and it took me like an hour and a half to finally be able to upgrade, and then it takes several hours for the upgrading process to complete. So, I am going to try it two more times...if they don't work the next two consecutive times, I'm just going to stick with XP.

By the way, it's a nice morning out there......

Installing Vista.......

I'm installing Windows Vista on my computer right now. It's gonna take awhile to upgrade....

I'll post screenshots when its done

Thursday, May 17, 2007

I lost my wallet yesterday and it got found today but that's not what this post is about

Today, we went to Rhythm and Hues and it was awesome. I saw Evan Almighty, Alvin and the Chipmunks, a remake of the Incredible Hulk, and The Golden Compass all under production; I actually saw the animators set the keyframes and stuff! So when I see it in the theaters (or on my TV screen) I can say, "Hey, I saw the guy work on this scene!" (I already can say that for Superman Returns, Garfield 2 and TFATF Tokyo Drift because I took the same tour last year)

Oh yeah, I'm going to get Windows Vista. For free. A "friend" hooked me up. Woohoo. Thing is, I have to get rid of a couple of programs that aren't compatible with it, but they're ones that I had no idea existed on my computer anyway.

The CSI Season Finale is on tonight!!! WATCH IT!!!!!

Wednesday, May 16, 2007

I was bored after awhile so I came back here and posted...

I was going to practice but I had to do homework and I got off track and returned here after posting my ecstasy at finding a new band. Sooooo.....

I'm reading a really awesome book called The Stand by Stephen King. I'm also simultaneously watching the 1994 film series based on the book, but I'm reading the book first then seeing how Hollywood interprets it. You think that this would ruin my interpretation of the characters, but I started reading this book last year and got about 1/2way and then my mom returned it to the library. And so, about last week I was at the library (for the 12th time in my life; the norwood library, to be exact; I've been to other libraries plenty of times) and I started over at the beginning skipping the parts that I remember. Which reminds me, if you plan to read this book, please wait until you're mature enough to handle excessive swearing and such, because Stephen King's favorite word is that infamous four letter verb meaning something we shouldn't do outside of marriage. And he puts alot of that stuff in there, too. Which is why I like the movie better than the book in terms of content because there's only 2% of the swearing and sex compared to the book. I recommend this book, but I put up a warning flag. And some of the stuff in this book is creepy enough to keep you awake all night or inspire a few vivid nightmares (I've had a couple). After all, it is a horror novel. When I finish it, I'll let you know....if there's anyone out there. Hello? Anybody out there? Hellooooo?? (knocking on the inside of your monitor screen)

I just remembered I don't have to do my homework today, because tomorrow the 3d animation class is going to the Rhythm and Hues studio all day!! I wonder what they're working on...

Speaking of which, we use Maya 7.0 PLE (personal learning edition; you know, the kind that puts that freaking annoying watermark over shaded/textured pictures?) and I succeeded in making a really cool animation of the solar system. After that, I tried making a BMW Z with NURBS modeling but that was too hard, so now I'm doing polygon modeling with a Nissan 350Z and that's easier...somewhat. It's a little discouraging to look at the next row of computers and see Vinny working on his high detailed Jeep model or Silas making his PS3 model. Well, 3D modeling isn't my gift, but I can make some really cool textures (hence, the solar system animation)

Well, there's only like 3 weeks of school left, and I need to sell $200 dollars worth of Circus tickets, my SAT is on June 2nd, and I have to finish learning the Grieg concerto (1st movement). Then after that, Hawaii and then summer and then double sessions and then...oh man, it's gonna be my senior year already? What the freak, where's my childhood? I want it back!!! Well, no use whining. Say, next year's inaugural, the girls have to ask the guys...well, I know I'll be going single despite the fact that there are more girls than guys. (are there? it seems like it...hold on...2..3...12....uh...lost track...ah well, who cares) Or that I might be asked out by Frankenstein's bride or Godzilla or something worse. Oh man, it's 6:00, gotta start practicing. I've run out of things to write...er, type..about anyway, so c'est la vie, adios, whatever language you speak, I don't really give a care.

Project 86!!!!

I just recently discovered this awesome band, and here's one of their music videos...The Spy Hunter

Here's lyrics if you want 'em (from azlyrics.com):

One last disguise

Pawns standing in awe of the game
Of the stage
You've worked so hard at building an empire
Of secret rooms to display yourself
And add to your wealth
The sting of.
Oh, it stings
When I saw it all come crashing
I witnessed the sound of a million voices
Screaming for a public hanging

So hide yourself, hide, hide yourself for now. [2x]

We caught you plotting murder
And now the Tide is Turning
We'll light our souls, heal our bones
Upon your empire burning [2x]

When the world is a target for humanity's market
And all of it's sold for a dime
I've seen the towers of gods
And the power of men
In disguises of the worst kind
I am the words on the page
I am the death among life today
I am the voice of one among the silent
Who's tired of burning among the flames

So hide yourself, hide, hide yourself for now. [2x]

We caught you plotting murder
And now the Tide is Turning
We'll light our souls, heal our bones
Upon your empire burning [2x]

I do not need anymore truthless heroes [3x]
We don't need no truthless heroes

So hide yourself, hide, hide yourself for now. [2x]

We caught you plotting murder
And now the Tide is Turning
We'll light our souls, heal our bones
Upon your empire burning [2x]

I need truth

Halo 2 is coming out for PC.....

....and I am really excited. Thing is, it costs about 50 bucks and I have to save up for my trip to Hawaii. And it requires Windows Vista, so add on about another 200 bucks. Ah well. Such is life.

Second Post

Yay, I remembered that I have this blog. So far it's not a failure.

....or is it?

I have 7 minutes to work with here, I really need to go prepare for a performance in L.A. tomorrow and another in Pasadena.

So, today was another bleak day, besides the fact that it's Friday and I don't have to worry about any homework. I looked at my bank savings account today and I got charged $3 every month, and they call it a service fee. I almost punched my computer's screen in.

Actually, I almost did it again because it did something really stupid. Too much to describe in a short amount of time. I wasted 40 seconds and now I only have 3 min. to work with.

..wait, it took me 4 min. to write this little? Wow, am I slow.

Oh geez, I just remembered Sunday is Mother's day.......gotta do somtin

Well, I've got not that much time left, so I'll babble on a bit.

What floats in water? Well, bread, apples and very small rocks do. Cider, great gravy cherries, mud....oh shoot, outta time, gotta go. (by the way, the floating in water thingy is from Monty Python and the Holy Grail)

First Post

I got a blog for the eightieth time, and I am going to be dedicated to this one.

For sure.

However, in the event that I become too busy or uninterested in this, this may turn into yet another miserable failure. Of course, no one out there would really care, but pish posh, ding doing, whatever the freak people think out there. (Of course, there are endless ways of how people think out there, and those are just a few simple, if not retarded, thoughts).

Wait, are you actually reading this? Is there someone out there actually reading this? Does someone care? Either way I don't really care because I like writing down nonsense every once in a while and don't give a doohickey about who reads it. Of course, I'll probably be the only one to read this, but some unlucky soul may just blunder by this blog and suffer a series of heart attacks, strokes, diarrhea, vomiting, rash, etc. etc. etc. and also suffer side effects of bloodshot eyes, elephantiasis....eh, you get the idea.

In the event that I told you this blog existed, I have no idea why I told you besides the fact that all this nonsense may mean something to someone. But, like I said, I don't give a doohickey about who reads this because I'm getting my rocks off just typing a bunch of nonsense.

About my username. I have no idea why I even chose that username, I was thinking of doom and destruction and all of the sudden a grey tree squirrel appeared out of nowhere with a machine gun and shot everything to kingdom come, and there was peace. Thinking that was somewhat significant, I made it my username.

And my password.....oh wait, can't tell you that. You'd start hacking up loogies the size of watermelons if I told you. Oh, and I can't compromise my security, either. So I'm saving both of us some trouble.

I am actually multitasking right now. While typing this, I am also watching Ladder 49 on TV. I'm not really paying any attention.....Wait! CSI is on tonight!!! Gotta remember that.........

I don't like school, you know that? I took an AP exam on Monday and my cerebellum still hurts. (Does that part of the brain have anything to do with thinking? Who cares, anyway? Nonsense is the key here, remember this) It was a U.S. Gov. and Politics exam. I think I got through multiple choice, and I managed to fake my way through the essays (I only knew 1.5 of the subjects.....I wish I paid attention to Mr. Davis ramblings on and on about federalism now), but I'm pretty sure I got at least a 2 or 3.

Some people took the literature AP today, and boy do I not feel sorry for them. They chose to do it, so they suffer. I'll take it next year, but Mrs. Horton says that Mr Horton doesn't give you stuff for the AP. Oh, what the hey, I'll manage.

Spiderman 3 is the most overrated opening movie ever. Personally, I thought the storyline was pathetic. The Sandman accidentally killing Uncle Ben? I don't remember that happening in the comics. Venom didn't come along till the end of the movie, and Brock was a really lame, shrimpy tabloid photog. In the comics, he was a photog at the D.B. and despised P.P. alot, but he was a macho benchpresser. I'd upload an image, but I'm too lazy. Venom looked cool, but he dies after being in the movie for 15 minutes and that is really lame.

Well, I'm tired out from writing nonsense. Actually, I'm not, I can go on for ages, but I have things to do, places to go, and a piano concerto to learn. (grieg's, to be exact, great piece, very difficult. I'm actually only learning the first movement currently.)

Until next time, don't forget to wash your hands. 30 seconds minimum.
